The Cato Institute public policy research foundation named for Cato’s Letters, a series of libertarian pamphlets that helped lay the philosophical foundation for the American Revolution. The mission of the Cato Institute is to increase the understanding of public policies based on the principles of limited government, free markets, individual liberty, and peace.

The American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research is an institution dedicated to research and education on issues of government, politics, economics, and social welfare.   AEI is home to some of America’s most accomplished public policy experts. The Institute’s community of scholars is committed to expanding liberty, increasing individual opportunity, and strengthening free enterprise.

EPI was the first — and remains the premier — organization to focus on the economic condition of low- and middle-income Americans and their families.

PERC is the nation’s oldest and largest institute dedicated to improving environmental quality through markets and property rights. Formed more than 25 years ago, PERC applies economic thinking to environmental problems. Located in Bozeman Montana, PERC pioneered the approach known as free market environmentalism (FME).
